2023 Puerto Rican Festival

Our first-ever Puerto Rican Festival in Manassas and the DMV drew attendees from 17 states and Puerto Rico, as illustrated by the graphs. With such overwhelming support, we're eagerly anticipating an even more significant turnout at this year's 2nd Annual Puerto Rican Festival. Our projections suggest a 10%-20% increase in attendees, promising an even larger and more vibrant celebration of Puerto Rican culture.

The comparison between the 1st and 2nd annual Puerto Rican Festivals in Manassas, VA, highlights significant growth and expansion:

Attendee Numbers:

• 1st Festival (2023): Total attendees were 10,000, with 5,208 registered and 4,792 not registered.
• 2nd Festival (2024): Total attendees increased to 18,000, with 5,235 registered and 12,765 not registered.

State and International Representation:

• 2023: Attendees came from 17 states and Puerto Rico. Virginia dominated with 2,900 attendees (56%).
• 2024: The festival expanded to include attendees from 29 locations, including 17 states, Puerto Rico, and several international locations such as Canada, Iceland, El Salvador, Niger, Mexico, and Portugal. Virginia remained the leader with 2,748 attendees, but Maryland (1,310) and DC (599) also showed strong representation.

Key Differences:

• Growth in Total Attendees: The 2nd festival saw an 80% increase in total attendance.
• Broader Reach: International participation and a wider geographical spread within the U.S. in 2024.
• Proportional Shift: While Virginia's share decreased slightly, Maryland and DC's representation grew significantly.

Future Outlook:

Based on the upward trajectory, projections for the 3rd festival anticipate a 10%-20% increase in attendees, further enhancing the celebration's vibrancy and reach.
